Einfluss von Düsengeometrie und Formdruck auf die Wanddickenverteilung

Flow optimized thermoforming
In this study a thermoforming test series combining different nozzle geometries and different forming pressures was performed. A PS-composite film was heated to 130 °C with contact heating. The results show that the air flow velocity has only a slight influence on the wall thickness. Further the application of a center nozzle at 0,3 and 0,4 bar, respectively, lead to a homogenization of the wall thickness and enabled the use of raw material of reduced thickness. This optimization potential by nozzle
geometry could open the way to thermoforming processes without plug in thermoforming applications which require high molding depths.
