Cumulative Oxygen Permeability Measurement
Within this study a new oxygen transmission measuring cell based on a chemical optical sensor with a detection limit of 0.5 ppm v/v has been developed for polymer based films. In comparison to common manometrical or electrochemical based measuring systems this chemical optical sensor methodology covers a wider measuring range of 10-2 cm³ (STP)/(m² d bar) to 107 cm³ (STP)/ (m² d bar). As a result of its reduced size and its simple configuration the optical chemical measuring device could enhance cost efficiency significantly.
