At CosmeticBusiness, a leading European trade fair for the cosmetics industry, Labelprint24, a German manufacturer of packaging material systems, is presenting a recyclable tube made of pure polypropylene. According to the company, this PP tube can be autoclaved. It will allow sterilization at 134 degrees Celsius for 18 minutes, and is said to be 100% recyclable unlike conventional tube products. At the same time, it still matches the latter in its barrier characteristics against oxygen and water vapor.

More innovations

In addition, the company is showing another new product, the "Digibox". The folding box is ordered and produced entirely in a digitalized and automated manner. This feat is accomplished by means of a laser that renders the mechanical die-cutter obsolete, thus reducing costs.

The packaging manufacturer is also presenting its new converting and printing solutions for producing visually appealing cosmetics packaging. Laminated tubes with butt seams will, for example, allow attractive digital 360-degree imprints and digital hot foil embossing to be applied for generating a glossy metallic effect on folding boxes for small runs and test series.
