Award winning label printing

Established in 1953, the iF Design Awards are recognized internationally as one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design, with outstanding industrial designs chosen from all over the world each year. Canon won the iF Design Award 2019 for its Océ LabelStream 4000 series, putting the seal of outstanding design quality on its industrial-scale UV inkjet conversion platform for self-adhesive labels.

Design matters

The machine is built for fast, affordable production of high-quality self-adhesive labels and selected flexible packaging. It is a 4- or 5-colour UV inkjet press (CMYK and white) with a print speed of 50 m/min and two print widths of 330 mm (13”) or 410 mm (16”) for short and medium-length jobs. Additional print modes increasing either production speed or add high opacity white, matching the opacity of analogue printing technologies such as rotary screen and flexo in one pass. It can expand to a full hybrid configuration with a custom mix of additional flexo, embellishment and finishing units, turning it into a fully integrated single-pass label conversion line. It will be shown at LabelExpo Europe in Brussels, Belgium, from September 24 – 27, 2019.
