Illig breaking ground in Romania

In early April, the German machinery manufacturer Illig officially broke ground together with representatives from the Romanian towns of Sibiu and Șura Mică for the construction of its new site. The company announced it would build a production plant with an administrative unit on approx. 60,000 m² at the Șura Mică industrial park, 8 kilometers northwest of the county seat of Sibiu. A total of about 10 million euros is scheduled to be invested into the construction of the second production site outside of Germany.

Production to start next year

The plant is expected to be operational in 2020, providing 50 jobs. The first ten employees are already being trained at the headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany for this work. The machinery manufacturer is a global supplier of thermal forming systems and tool systems for plastics. The family-owned company's services include development, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of production lines and individual components.
