Drupa touchpoint packaging: 20 projects to be developed
The "touchpoint packaging" at Drupa 2020 will be focusing on packaging key issues such as customization and personalization, digitalization, security and authentication. The steering committee with its members Agfa, Bobst, Danone, Esko, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, HP, Kurz, Nestlé, Siegwerk and European Packaging Design Association defined more than 20 projects with regard to these topics. At next year's Drupa, these projects are said to display how innovative printing technologies contribute to the future of packaging.
Prototypes will be showcased
According to the trade fair, these projects are aimed to present concepts and the latest knowledge about new packaging production, finishing technologies and substrates. This is said to be culminating in prototypes that meet the demands and needs of both future consumers and brand owners. Over the 11 days of Drupa visitors reportedly will be able to listen to keynotes, attend roundtables, and to engage with specialists.
Cooperation with Italian design academy
Meanwhile, the touchpoint team extended the range of its so-called advanced partners by BST Eltromat, Cloudlab, Dalim, Efi, Kodak, Koenig & Bauer, Konica, Minolta, Saueressig, Werk II, and Merck. Furthermore, there now is an agreement with NABA, International Academy of Art, Design and Fashion, located in Milan, Italy. A group of international students reportedly will add their insights to the steering committee member-driven projects plus present their own ideas and design concepts for tomorrow’s packaging at the special show of touchpoint packaging.
