Another service provider has added grass paper as a sustainable material to its portfolio. AstroNova from Dietzenbach, Germany - European headquarters of AstroNova, USA - now offers grass paper labels in its Product Identification division. It is said to be particularly suitable for food, cosmetics, wine, pet food and clothing.

One of the biggest packaging trends

The adhesive used is approved for direct foodstuff contact and carries the ISEGA certification. A further acrylic dispersion adhesive, which is removable from a variety of substrates without leaving residue, is offered as an option. The new label material with the suitable printer, the QL 300, will be presented for the first time at the Empack trade show in May.

Environmentally friendly packaging and labelling reportedly create a high level of consumer confidence in the brand and the product. Grass paper is therefore said to be one of the biggest packaging trends of recent times.
