Thermoformed paper and cardboard packaging
At Iffa, Multivac will be presenting new concepts ranging from the processing of mono films and extend right up to paper fibre-based materials. The range includes solutions made of paper and cardboard composites from rolls as well as cardboard trays for processing on conventional thermoforming packaging machines and tray sealers.
With the exhibited PaperBoard solution, various solutions for MAP and vacuum skin packs made of paper fibre-based materials are available, according to the company. The functional layers is said to also fulfill the barrier requirements of sensitive products. In addition, the cardboard carrier reportedly can be separated from the plastic barrier layer by type.
For the production of paper-based MultiFresh skin packaging, two variants will be presented at IFFA: On the R 105 MF thermoformer, for example, flat vacuum skin packaging based on reel-fed cardboard composites; and the production of vacuum skin packs being produced from pre-cut card sheets on the automatic T 800 traysealer line. A labelling process will also be demonstrated.
