Come one, come all! interpack 2017 is waiting for you! In Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 4th until May 10, 2017 everything that the international packaging scene has to offer will be on display once again.
To give you a first impression of what is awaiting you at the trade fair, the magazines apr - Aktuelle Papier-Rundschau and VR - Verpackungs-Rundschau have put together a special preview issue - focus interpack.
On the machine side, a few new models for interpack are already on display in this issue starting with
" food on page 6, followed by
" automation, from page 34,
" labelling/coding from page 42 and on page 90,
" cosmetics from page 48 and
" pharmaceuticals from page 52.
Others naturally want to do the unveilling themselves at the fair.
On the materials side, the packaging industry is having a very hard time keeping up with the demand for bio-based materials. Europe - in particular Germany - is doing its part in meeting the need for greater sustainability (see features from page 70), but there is still much room for improvement. The market demands more from us than simply fueling our forklifts with natural gas. Those who want to operate sustainably must make new and greater efforts. You can find out more about who is doing that, and how, in this issue and at this year's interpack!
Plastics are covered from page 80 while the ever present discussion of carton board and mineral residue is found on page 92 and the following pages.
Digital printing with Heidelberg's digital solutions (p. 106), the answer to whether recycled packaging contaiminates fast food (p. 112) and a look on packaging design (p. 114) round off our focus interpack issue.

We look forward to welcoming you to interpack 2017, and to our booth in Hall 11/F21!
